Other Ethiopian Drinks

As well as Tej, Tella, beer, and coffee, Ethiopia also makes wine and fruit juices.

Fresh juices, such as mango juice are often excellent.

The one local wine we tried, Gouder, was a red, but it was so dry as to be almost undrinkable. We were told that Awash wines, from near the beginning of the Afar region, a couple of hundred kilometres east of Addis, were the best wines.

We also came across this mystery drink, but no-one could tell us what it was made from.
